Academy-Awards-2011
The big night of the Hollywood, the Oscars, fell on 27th February this year and was held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. It was a night full of excitement, anxiety and thrill with millions of viewers glued to the function in some or the other way to know the names that would be said after the sentence, ‘And the winner is…’. As known to all. The Academy Awards is the most awaited event in Hollywood and the night did not upset a single soul when it came to deliver the awards for the most deserved artists. Let’s take a round-up of those who emerged victorious!

The King’s Speech left behind other award winning movies like Black Swan and The Social Network to stand high with the Best Picture of the Year award.

Based on the themes of trust and friendship in the WWII era, the film had been internationally acclaimed by global audiences. Cloin Forth bagged the Best Actor award for The King’s Speech while soon to-be mommy Natalie Portman took the Best Actress award for Black Swan. The Best Supporting Actor went to Christian Bale’s way for his classic performance in The Fighter whereas in the female section of the same, Melissa Leo received the honors.

At the end of the night, The King’s Speech totaled to 4 Oscars with Inception bagging 4 awards and The Social Network at 3. The awardees indeed deserved their respective award which calls for a special applause to the jury for being so perfect. The night also saw Anne Hathaway and James Franco forming a duo to host the show this year. But, their performance as hosts was later criticized by many people which added the adjective ‘boring’ in front of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. Nonetheless, it was a gala time at the Kodak Theater on the Oscar night!
