The World Music Awards 2010 were held on the 18th of May, 2010 in Monte Carlo. These awards honor the best talents in the music industry all around the world and are held annually. Two lovely actresses, Michelle Rodriguez and Hayden Panettiere, were the co-hosts of this glamorous event. Let’s take a look at the winners of World Music Awards.

Lady Gaga emerged as the sensation for this year’s award ceremony by collecting 4 awards for herself. She received the World’s Best Single award for her song ‘Poker Face’, World’s Best Album for the album, The Fame, the Best Pop/Rock Artist and the Best New Artist for 2010. U2 won the World’s Best Rock Artist awards and Black Eyed Peas bagged the Best Pop Artist honors. The award for World’s Best R&B Artist and Best Hip Hop Artist also went the way of the Black Eyed Peas. David Guetta won the World’s Best DJ and The Scorpions were named as Rock Legends.

Andrea Bocelli was adjudged as the Best Classical Artist around the world with David Guetta receiving another award for being the World’s Best Producer. A special award was given to Jennifer Lopez for her Outstanding Contribution to Arts.

The awards were ruled over by the undoubted ‘Queen of Pop’ in the industry currently, Lady Gaga who went home with 4 trophies on her name. As a group or band, Black Eyed Peas emerged the leading scorers with 3 awards for themselves. David Guetta won 2 awards and was also named as the best selling artist in France.
