The stunning Charlize Theron has told close friends that she decided to break up with her boyfriend Stuart Townsend, following a Christmas trip to Mexico after which she stopped wearing the ‘commitment ring’ that Stuart has given her as a sign of their committed relationship. According to a source close to the Daily Mail, the couple decided to split after realizing that they were more like brother and sister than lovers. During the Mexican holiday trip, Charlize realized that the relationship was over and it was she who ended it. The couple broke up after a major blow up on a 10 day vacation to Mexico. According to a source, the Mexico trip lasted for only 1 day and they returned and broke up. Theron demanded the Irish actor to move out immediately.
The speculation of their break up started when Charlize was seen at the Hope for Haiti without her commitment ring, which she has always considered precious and that she had always worn. Though the couple has never married each other, they considered each other husband and wife. In 2007, Stuart told PEOPLE that although they didn't do a church wedding, but they treat each other as husband and wife and want to spend their lives together. Moreover, the couple claimed that they didn’t need a paper to validate their union but they consider themselves as husband and wife.
Stuart is not letting his split with Theron slow down his acting career. Stuart who moved out of the Hollywood home he shared with Charlize told his close friends that he has no real idea as to why they broke up so abruptly. A source told the newspaper that Stuart is very sad and heartbroken with this separation. It has been reported by The National Enquirer that Charlize and Keanu Reeves have taken their on-screen romances into real life. It has been rumored that soon after her break up with the longtime partner, Stuart Townsend, she has been spotted with Keanu Reeves in Los Angeles.
