The country singer - who has 2 daughters – Sunday Rose, two, and three-month-old Faith, together with the actress - checked right into a clinic to be treated for substance abuse just four months after he got married to the ‘Rabbit Hole’ star which was in the month of June, 2006. He now realizes the intention that he was taken for the treatment was to improve the social life in different groups of people.
He told the Good Weekend magazine, “I think I’ve spent my life fearful of intimacy. The result was a feeling of ‘being without’, this hole I tried to fill with all those other things. The only thing that has really filled it has been the love of my wife and our daughters.”
Keith wishes he met Nicole before in the life, but he's now grateful for every day he gets to spend with her.
He continued: “The way in which it happened has turned out to be divinely inspired.”
There was large possibility to ruin his happy marriage life due to his individual attitude but his lovely wife Nicole led him on the right path. She proved that a bad person can be changed with love rather than punishment.
The musician - who has been in clinics twice before - mentioned: "I thought, 'Surely let's give it a few years so we've got some solidity, because this kind of thing could tear us apart. This could just destroy us.'
"It was really a profound moment in so many ways. The way in which Nic handled that moment was just perfect ... Everything was just designed, I believe, for that moment to fuse us together."
