Rabbit Hole is a story of Becca (Nicole Kidman) and Howie (Aaron Eckhart) trying to return to normal life after they lose the love of their lives- their son. They attend counseling sessions but both have their own different ways of recovering from the loss and separately sort out their issues. While Becca wants to get rid of all the things that reminds her of her son, Howie wants to hold onto everything. Becca opens up to her mother (Dianne Wiest) and develops a close association with the guy who was driving the car that hit her son. Howie continues to go to counseling sessions and gets close to one of the other grieving parents, Gabby (Sandra Oh). Rabbit Hole movie is a journey of the grieving couple trying to recover from their son's death and finding their way back to love, and back to life.
The movie garnered good reviews for the lead Actors and earned Academy Award nomination for Nicole Kidman as well as a Golden Globe and SAG award nominations. The movie has been appreciated by the audience and critics. The Rabbit Hole Blu-ray and DVD disc was released on April 19, 2011 and features some deleted scenes as well as audio commentary from the director of the film John Cameron Mitchell, director of photography Frank G. DeMarco and the writer David Lindsay-Abaire.
