The thrill of street car racing and non-stop action returned to big screen with the release of Fast five, the fifth movie in the Fast and the Furious Franchise. The 2011 action film is directed by Justin Lin and released on April 29, 2011. The movie follows Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Mia Toretto (Brewster) on the run and are amongst the most wanted criminals list in America.

They are being chased by a federal agent, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson). The three of them plan their last job to gain freedom, which is to steal $100 million from Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), a corrupt businessman. To help them carry out the heist, they are joined by old Fast And Furious franchise stalwarts Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Han (Sung Kang) and Tej (Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges).

The theme of Fast Five shifted from street racing to action to attract more audience. The film ditched street racing and featured only one car race while more emphasis was on the heist of $100 million, gun fights and brawls. The teaser trailer and stills from the movie were released on Vin Diesel’s Facebook page attracting the Fast and Furious fans.

The film received positive critical reception after its release. The movie got an average rating of 6.3 on Rotten tomatoes, 7.8/10 on IMDB and on the opening weekend it earned $86.2 million. Fans who loved the previous Fast and Furious movies will not be disappointed by this one. The movie provides the action and adventure that the audiences look for.

There are already speculations of the sixth installment in the fast and furious franchise, so fans definitely have something to look forward to.
