The movie is about the protectors of peace and justice who are called as Green Lantern Corps. Each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. When the Green lanterns face a new enemy known as Parallax, they turn to their newest recruit, a test pilot and the first ever human selected- Hal Jordan. If Hal manages to master his new powers, he can save the earth and can become the greatest Green Lantern.
Few actors like Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto were screen tested for the title role but ultimately Ryan Reynolds was signed. Blake Lively plays carol Ferris, Hal’s childhood sweetheart. The movie also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong and Angela Bassett.
At the 2010 Los Angeles Scream Awards, Green lantern won the award for the ‘Most Anticipated Movie’. This Ryan Reynolds upcoming film will appeal to a wider audience. The movie definitely has gotten comic store owners hopes high as they assume their sales will increase with the release of the superhero movie. The movie is DC comics challenge and answer to Marvel comics who have three movies that will hit the box office- Thor, X-Men: First Class and Captain America: The First Avenger. Warner Bros are putting in all the efforts to make sure that the movie will attract audiences. They spent $9 million in post-production of the movie for its visual effects to make the movie better.
