Directing, acting, writing – Tom Hanks is capable of everything. The upcoming movie, Larry Crowne, will have Tom Hanks as the director, co-writer, producer and actor. He will play the lead role along with the beautiful, Julia Roberts. The movie is Hanks second directorial venture after ‘That Thing You Do’ and is slated for release on July 1, 2011. The actor returns to directing a full feature film after 15 years. Tom Hanks has co-written the script of the movie along with Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding).

The movie is about a middle-aged man Larry Crowne (Tom hanks), who after losing his job due to downsizing, reinvents himself after he decides to goes back to college and that is where the fun begins. He tries to get his life back on track and find a new job by completing his education. Larry develops a crush on Julia Roberts who plays a married professor (Mercedes Tainot) who hates her job, her husband and the only thing she likes is her booze.

The movie gives a strong message that how when a person thinks that there is nothing worth in life, he is given a reason to live. The hardships of life can make a person undergo personal reinvention. It shows how recession can be tough and yet there is a humorous side attached to it.

The two Oscar winning actors and Hollywood’s popular stars, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, are back again on the big screen after their last movie, Charlie Wilson’s War. The movie is expected to showcase Tom Hanks at his comedic best. The movie has the kind of star cast that will keep the audience laughing till the end like Cedric the Entertainer, Wilmer Valderrama and Pam Grier. Lots of comedy and drama is expected by movie-goers from this highly anticipated film of 2011.
