The Event – Producers looking for new network
After a strong premiere of the series, the viewership slipped and the show failed to maintain the positive numbers which led to its cancellation after the first season. According to Entertainment Weekly, it is reported that the alien drama show will not be picked up for the second season by NBC. In addition to The Event, NBC also canceled another new series, Law & Order: Los Angeles.

But there might still be hope for the few fans of the show as there are reports of the producers shopping for new network to rescue their show. The show’s executive producer Steve Stark has said that they are looking for options for the show.

There are rumors that Netflix might be interested in picking up the show. The Event was considered by many as an entertaining show with a loyal fanbase but the audience was enough to cover the costs which ultimately led NBC to cancel it. In between its last episode in November 2010 and its relaunch episode in March 2011, the series lost more than 26% demo viewers. With the season finale approaching, it has to be seen whether the series will be saved or not.
